2019 Animal Science Pre-Conference Tour
THANK YOU to those who presented at the 2019 Annual Meeting & Professional Improvement Conference in Indiana. There were 22 excellent presentations given, covering a broad range of topics.
The tour started in Louisville, KY on Thursday evening. Thanks to some generous sponsors, the cost was only $200 per participant, including lodging and meals.

Stop #2: Rosenbaum Farms – cow/calf operation
Stop #3: Indiana Beef Evaluation Program (IBEP) at the Feldun-Purdue Agriculture Center
Stop #4: Rose Acre Farms – 2nd largest egg producer in the U.S.
Stop #5: Poe Hampshires – well-known sheep operation
Supper with representatives from Elanco Animal Health & Purina Animal Nutrition
Stop #6: Meadowlane Farms – contracted pork production & custom manure application
Stop #7: Fair Oaks Farms – dairy production & large-scale agritourism; lunch with CEO & discussion about transparency in animal agriculture
Stop #8: Rochester Livestock Auction – member of Livestock Marketing Association
Stop #9: Joseph Decuis Farm – Wagyu beef operation, entertainment venue, & fine dining restaurant
The tour group arrived in Fort Wayne, IN at the annual meeting location on Saturday evening.
2020 Animal Science Pre-Conference Tour
Tentative plans are to gather in Roanoke, VA on the evening of July 16, 2020 and tour across the state, ending in Virginia Beach the evening of July 18, 2020. Stay tuned for more information.
