Abstract
Burnout is a state of emotional, physical, and mental exhaustion caused by prolonged stress and overwork. It often manifests as helplessness, detachment, and a lack of accomplishment. Burnout is a multifaceted issue that impacts personal and professional lives. Recognizing early signs is crucial to prevent long-term damage. Leaders play an important role in preventing and mitigating burnout within their teams by fostering a supportive work environment, encouraging open communication, and providing resources for mental health. Leaders are urged to lead by example, promoting a culture of balance to ensure their team's sustained productivity and satisfaction. We will cover practical strategies to combat burnout, focusing on self-care, time management, and seeking support for extension educators. We will also discuss the benefits of mindfulness and physical activity in reducing stress and promoting overall well-being.
